The Central Illinois Economic Development Region (EDR #1), encompassing three local workforce areas and twelve counties, is making available for public comment its updated 2024-2028 regional and local plans. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires states, regions and local workforce areas to develop plans that will be implemented over a period of 4 years, and an update is required every 2 years. The regional and local plans will develop, align and integrate the region and local area’s programs & services and provide a platform to achieve its goals and overall vision. EDR #1 includes the counties of Cass, Christian, Greene, Logan, Macon, Macoupin, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Sangamon, Scott and Shelby. A thirty (30) day period, prior to submission of the plans to the State of Illinois, will be allowed for public review and comment
